Biography
The Western Roman Empire is one of the two Roman Empires, the other being the Eastern Roman Empire. The Western Roman Empire spans Europe and Africa, owning the lands of Gaul, Italy, the Western Balkans, Tunisia and Tripolitania, along with the many islands in between. The Western Roman Empire is ruled by Augustus Justinian III, the son of the Eastern Roman Empire's Emperor and Autocrat Nero II.
The Western Roman Empire also is home to the Pope, currently Pius IX (born Giovanni Mastai-Ferretti), having peacefully annexed the Papal States which used to stand around Rome. The Pope is the worldwide leader of Catholicism, one of the major denominations of Christianity.
